Today in English, we wrote back to our group members in the writing forum. We told them what we liked about their writing and what they could improve on.
Last night, the Detroit Lions moved right on through the Chicago Bears. The Lions beat the Bears 24-13 to stay undefeated.

10-10-11

In algebra today we did a lesson on fractions and decimals. In English we took notes on the computer and we started on our vocabulary workbooks. In our science class with Mr. Corkle, we did projects on velocity, momentum, and speed, ect. In Mr. Hostert’s 4th period class we learned more about Canada and all of its provinces. Also today for lunch we are having home style meatloaf and chicken nuggets with mashed potatoes and gravy. In our reading class today we are going to have a whole bunch of fun stuff to do. In JH Career Guidance we are doing clusters. In unrelated news, tonight are the FCCLA and FFA meetings. Over the weekend the Cornhuskers took a win over Ohio State. I’m guessing that all Husker fans were getting upset with the Huskers and possibly shutting the T.V. off. That is all for this blog post. Thanks for reading the OHS English 8 blog!

Today in English we got into our CBL groups and talked about the problems in the world.  Then in Reading we all tried shelfari and got shelfari accounts, accept mine didn’t work.
In Ord the Eagles lost a heartbreaker of 13 to 15 against the chanticleers.  In the middle of the game there was a postpone delay because of lightning.

Thursday, 10-6-11

by Tyson Hostert

Today was just another average day at OHS.  We went to all our classes and did the same routine.  But there were a few things that happened today.  Today the Eagle softball team travels to Blair to take on Blair High in the first round of districts.  Also the Eagle volleyball team travels to Pierce to take on the Blue Jays in C, JV, and Varsity matches.  In side that routine we worked on memoirs during English.  Also during English we voted on our “Write to Change the World.”  Another thing we did is have another school lunch.  That lunch was what the school considered hot dogs and cavatinee.   It was just another average lunch period.
When I looked upon the world today one big issue I noticed is Barack Obama trying to push a job bill through.  He has made many public service announcements and speeches about what he thinks this could do for Americans.  Another big issue is the protest at Wall Street.  Today they are in their 20th day of protest.  All of the people involved with the protest are protesting against the rich people coasting off of the accomplishments of the underclass people.

Wednesday, 10-5-11

by Jon Gettert

Today in English we worked on our memoir packet again. We also handed in our CBL (challenge based learning) posters on issues in the world today.

In other news the resigned CEO of Apple Inc. died today from pancreatic cancer, his death was mourned by millions across the nation. He contributed a lot to the world and to our school personally. He will be remembered for his ideas and mentality.

Today in English we looked at the Write to Change the World posters and did an online survey to form teams. There was a FCCLA thing going on today so not everybody is pictured.

Also today Mrs. Troester talked about our memoirs. We have a packet that we are supposed to work on.

Outside of English class what happened was the bathrooms are available to use now. Everyone's happy about that. Now hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Today in English class we worked on our memoirs. We worked on the first two pages. Mrs. Troester read two examples from last year’s class. Then Mrs. Morrow talked about the CBL (challenge based learning). She talked about the steps that we already went though and the steps that are coming up. Today in school no one could use the hallway restrooms. There were people working on the pipes due to a sewage malfunction.
