Today was a crazy day at O’Neil High School. We have been very busy between State FFA and getting ready for the NESA Tests we will be taking next week. This is a sign that we are on the downhill stretch of the school year. The seniors are already counting down the days until they graduate. In English, we were very busy typing our rough drafts of our speeches that are due Friday. We also finished up our Daily Grammar Practice (DGP) for the week early. I know that everyone is nervous about giving a speech, but I am sure with some effort, everyone will do a great job. I am looking forward to hearing everybody’s opinions on their topics. As I write this post, I am on my way to Lincoln for State FFA and I would like to wish everyone in our chapter good luck!!! That’s all for today. Moving forward. The days go so fast it seems like hear at OHS. Once it’s the first day of school and then it’s almost over. Everyone has those bad days though maybe even bad weeks, where the days drag on and everything blobs together. Then you’re moving forward. Looking back it doesn’t seem like I have been here that long. Walking through the hallways like that’s what I have been doing all my life. We even picked up are schedules for next year a few days ago! So we will keep moving forward. English class keeps us well and busy with the speeches we are writing but the rest of the day is yours to ponder. We will never know what to expect here at OHS, except that from here we will always keep moving forward.

Daily Blogger 3-22-12

         Today in English class we made preparations for our big persuasive speech project that 8^th graders do every year. We’ve already decided our topics and we are currently in the note-taking process. 

         A big event occurred at school today when some distant visitors came from Ohio to view our 1 on 1 learning process. They paid a visit to various classes throughout the day. In Mrs. Morrow’s quarter 4 Technology class, the visitors stopped by and viewed a presentation Mrs. Morrow had prepared. They then asked the students different questions about various things like our CBL project.

Wednesday, 3-21-12

            Writing, writing, writing. Our 8^th grade class is grinding their pencils down to a nub and warming up their keyboards pounding out persuasive speeches. We were assigned this and must decide on a topic we feel strongly about to persuade our class our viewpoint on it is the right one. We have many topics from abortion to smoking and I can’t wait to see what the writers think about them. Not only were speeches being written, but also a team of 8^th grade students formed by Gary Hostert was absent that day to attend a quiz bowl and ended up falling short at finals out of 21 teams. Over all, Wednesday has gone pretty well. Once again, this is Bailey Krieger giving you a look into another day at OHS.

Monday Monday Monday. The day that nobody really likes. But today seemed different. It was a really chaotic day. Very, very busy in English class today! For our Persuasive speeches, we had to get ALL of our notes done! Phew! What a day! Also, it was someone's birthday! Miss LaDonna had her 15th birthday! Let's hope she had a great day!

Today was a good day at OHS today.  It was the start of our Rosenberg trial in Civics class and it is the first week for track.  I play Harry Gold in the trial (pictured below) who was a prosecuting witness for the trial back then. 

            In all of the other classes it was just a regular day.  Homework in most of them…as usual.  In track we are still just having conditioning workouts since the P.E. kids are still in track right now.  

            As you can see it is just another plain day at OHS.
