Monday, 10-24-11

It was another typical day at O’Neill High School.  Sadly, that is not the case in Turkey, as the death toll rises after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake took place. Today in Geography, we continued our study on Mexico and worked on our Mexican state project.  Our Geography answers for today were: Memphis and Los Angeles.  In math, we did a typical assignment.  In Reading, we read and did Teenbiz after discussing Lesson 9.  In English, we gave feedback on the writing forum and talked about prepositional phrases and infinitive phrases.  Study Hall and Band was same as always.  For lunch, you could have scalloped potatoes and ham or a hot pepperoni sub.  Although, I wouldn’t advise you to eat either of them.   Today in Science, we did the Banana Dance and talked about Newton’s three laws.  In Technology, we worked on our storyboards for our Personal Brand videos.  In Wrestling, we did our usual warm-ups and worked on our stances.

It was a good weekend to be a Husker!  The football team beat Minnesota 41-14 and the volleyball team beat number one ranked Illinois as well.  Around home, controversy over the Keystone XL Pipeline is still erupting as Gov. Dave Heineman called a special legislative session concerning the issue.  Today, students were surprised to see James aka “The Hammer” with a different hair color. James decided to dye it for his Charlie Sheen costume that he wore to Lydia’s Halloween Party.
