Thursday, 10-20-11

by Vionne Trizila

Most days are usually exciting and fun, but on October 20th, it wasn’t that exciting. In English second period, we mostly just posted on the forum and then we studied vocab. After that, Mrs. Troester explained to us how we need to get a good foundation right now in our writing. So, she handed out packets but right when we were about to start, the bell rang.
After English came reading. In reading Mrs. Troester gave us book hooks, which is when she tells us about books we might want to read for our independent reading. Soon after we worked on finding moods in our reading.
When lunch finally came around, we had a choice of ham and cheese, or something else I didn’t know the name of! (Yuck!) When the bell rang signaling that lunch was over, you can just see the disappointment on the kid’s faces.
But in sixth period, we graded videos that we had added science to. My group’s video was up next. Although I strongly dislike showing my work, Mr. Corkle made us do the banana cheer, which really does boost your self-esteem.
Ah, Business Trends, we explored the world of entrepreneurship. We learned more about the people in our community that have open a business based on a skill or something they have invented. Right at the end of the class, we had a fire drill. It was a short one compared to our regular drills. Next came P. E.
Basketball season has arrived, and the School has us try a sport for two weeks before we decide we don’t want it. Personally, I don’t like basketball. But it’s an interesting sport to watch.
When school was finally over, it turned out it wasn’t so bad after all. After school we had a game against St. Paul. And since it was our last game, it was parent’s night when they get to walk the seniors.
